phase three...playtime!

I must backtrack a little...
Before the play time....
was the reading time.
Time for books
and time for lifestyle magazine porn
{you know what I mean!}
Yesterday was my two monthly
transfusion day in hospital
A day when I can catch up on all things paper related....
Sometimes it's letter writing, sometimes it's diary time, or like yesterday...
it's reading time...
I had my new inside out magazine with me
and I was set...

And with lovely pages like this
I was excited to escape and get inspired...
with new projects...

And new spring colours...
styled by Glen Proebstel.
Yes...
I was all set!

White on white...
like the collage piece by Roger Crawford that I showed you this week...
mmmmm...many ideas for my brooch!

But I was sidetracked by a few complications with my treatment...
nothing serious but I was a little thrown and all I could think to do
was escape into the book I'm reading, and loving at the moment....
Dance dance dance by Haruki Murakami...
ohhhhh I love this book! I know Im late to get on the Murakami bandwagon...
but better late than never...right?
I love the way he thinks...he writes...he imagines....

So after all of that head in book action...
Today was about action action...i.e. the brooch.
And its phase three time ...
time to play!!!

all about shape and colour....

As the brooch was an unusual shape I decided to try and find other examples in my box!

Still loving this flocked paper!
And as you can see.... it has the paisley brooch shape in it!
Lucky find...

Red! Don't think it will figure in the final piece but I know how much fun red jewellery can be...

And then back to simple shapes...
in metal
in rust
in wood....
Zen maybe ???
An way you better leave me to my wayward thoughts...
have a great weekend
and I hope the sun shines wherever you may roam...
Young Blood markets at the Powerhouse starts tonight!
just a thought...
