LOVE this public works installation (image below) in Angel Place that was set up as part of the new lane ways exhibition schedule for Art+About... I wish I had a pod recorder set up so I could tape the bird sounds that are part of this piece called Forgotten Songs by Michael Thomas Hill , Richard Major, David Towey + Richard Wong....
It is such a beautiful and atmospheric work that really takes you into another world as soon as you enter the space... People were sitting in the lane way just listening to the bird calls as they sing on a continuous loop...and you start to think of what the place would have been like before the big bad city exploded! Before all the trees were chopped down, before the cars, before the sky scrappers and copious amounts of shopping malls...
The work is up until the end of January so there is plenty of time....

to take a time out
and check it out....
The image below is from the now extinct Noodle markets in Hyde Park that were taken down on Friday night... I got a chance to check them out last week and it was such a lovely night... with all the smells of hot noodles and stir-frys... with lanterns strung up through the tents + the beautiful site of all the Jacaranda trees in full bloom!
And finally ...
This little bit of graffiti was spied down in The Rocks... I love that it looks like the little people are trying to run away from the big bad red rubbish bin! Very cute...
Actually its surprising that someones been lucky enough to get away with tagging even one tiny little bit of the precious Rocks precinct...!
Good on ya I say!! Bout time !
