the little things.....

I dont know if you have noticed, but one thing that you may have gleaned about me from reading this blog is that I am a person who LOVES the little things in life!

I truly find pleasure in the quiet or simple moments in the day... Maybe it comes from the fact that I have experienced a lot of physical pain from living with a chronic illness? Maybe...
All I know is that if I have experienced a day with no pain it is a great day! Furthermore, if I have been able to get out and about and have a coffee while reading the paper, or walk to a gallery or beach and enjoy the outing, then its been a brilliant day!

At this present time I have to say that things are great and its a culmination of all these little moments throughout the weeks combined that have lead to this real sense of calm and quiet pleasure that im feeling...
Like this image above that I found some time ago... Its such a lovely photo of kids around a lovely big wooden table at breakfast! Can be a potential nightmare I know!! But in this little pic there is this real sense of nostalgia...Reminds me of my childhood with the raffia placemats, coloured drawings plastered on the wall and flowers on the table... Beautiful!

Lately I have also been able to acquire some little things that seem like nothing, and yet I find them so beautiful... If they have a scratch, a mark, a sense of being used... then I love it! Its that idea that the object has a tiny bit of history; a sense that it has been loved once and that it will be loved again...
By ME!

These images above and below are of a few things on my white shelf; the newest addition being my secret Santa gift which i received yesterday! Its a little yellow vase that has no monetary value and yet its worth as much as anything that I have in my collection! Its yellow with a red rim at the top, is a cute size + shape, and has a little personality! Love it!
