inspiration/interpretation

Love finding new inspirational shots and styling ideas....
The image above is from the January/February issue of Inside Out magazine and their feature on the London home of British craft author + stylist Sania Pell, who last year published her first book called The Homemade Home....
I love the grouping of beautiful ceramic pieces in front of graphic black + white images on unframed pieces of paper that have been simply placed on the wall...
It's warm, textural and tells a story of herself and her family...
I especially love the bottle on the right with the alphabet hand written or stenciled onto it!
Again so simple but striking!

And then there is my little interpretation!
Difference? ummmmmm...COLOUR!!
As always! Got to be colour...
The objects are second hand finds and new pieces, the newest being the tiny jug on the far right which is by Sydney ceramic artist Ashley Fiona. On the wall I've mixed sketches, postcards, porcelain, and fabric to give colour, texture and fun!!

Again the inspiration is quiet, beautifully styled, and a mixture of antique objects and new finds by Sania. She has an amazing space and it has a white/clean/ quiet feel without being cold or unwelcoming...

Pop!
This is my interpretation.
Colour, LOTS of small intricate pieces and a some old objects and pieces of furniture...
And just as I finished this blog entry...
A new inside out was delivered to my mailbox!
And so it begins again...
Another weekend pouring over new inspirations!
I hope you find new ways to play with all your tiny pieces around the house!
Have fun...
x
