Timing is a funny thing.
Some people have an innate sense of their own timing, and seem to always be in the right place, at the right time, to say the right thing to the exact person that they needed to say that right thing to!
I think it is a gift. A science. A Divine sense that some people just HAVE....
And then there are the rest of us!
For me...I waver somewhere in the middle!
I try to listen to my intuition and be in touch with what I need to do, by living in 'the flow'. But alot of the time im out of step, forever apologising to someone for missing a phone call, a chat, or catch up! In the last few years my timing has been lost within ill health and having to let go of any obligations, whether they were work or socially related. But now im feeling like im back in track.... or trying to be!
One example of my lack of timing has to do with this tiny fabric ornament that ive photographed above. At Christmas I missed the chance to give this tiny hand made ornament to a certain little lady. I missed the 'right' time... which would been when she would have had a tree with which to place said ornament! So I gave it to her...today!!
Oh well...better late than never!
I diffused the confusion over this weird timing by saying that it could be used in her bedroom... a decorating tool to spruce up the place!!
I think she went for it!!

But on the flip side....
How about this for good timing....
A blog that i have been loving, and was going to talk about this week, is actually being featured on The Design Files guest blog! Now that is funny...
The site is called Where they Create and it is by Australian stylist/photographer Paul Barbera. Paul has been working on the site for a couple of years now and he has featured some amazingly creative people, from overseas and Australia. His images are intimate and use a beautiful sense of light, giving the viewer a true sense of how each artist works/thinks/imagines in their space.
One space I particularly liked looking at was the studio of Paul Davis, a Sydney, or more specifically a Surry Hills-based painter who is represented by Tim Olsen Gallery. Ive had some of his works in my 'Favourite work of the week' section on this blog (which I do change every week!!) So now, with the use of some of Paul Barbera's brilliant images, you can have a look at the man, behind the paintings!
Definitely worth checking out Paul Barbera's blog.... and worth remembering his name for future reference, as there is a book to be published soon!If you would like to see more of Paul Davis' paintings I would click onto Tim Olsen's website!
And as for me...
I better get back to catching my tail...
by locating my timing...
That inside me....
somewhere!!

Oh she went for it! Thank you! It's hanging up in her bedroom right now. I actually think it's perfect timing, instead of getting lost in the muddle of the Christmas tree she's enjoying its beauty as she watches it from her bed.

But I understand what you mean about timing, I often seem to be out of step with the world. (Except of course with my awesome IKEA experience yesterday, which was a marvel of good timing).

haha its true! Im actually glad of my lack of timing now....as they both seem to enjoy the tiny pieces more! I did think they would've gotten lost within bigger gifts at chrissy time! But I marvel at your ikea military precision too!!! brilliant work lady...x
